Welcome to Tulip Grove! We are excited that you are considering visiting us. Here’s everything you need to know to plan your visit:
Our Mission:
Tulip Grove Baptist Church exists to glorify God by making disciples of all nations who worship Christ, are in covenant community with one another, and grow together in the truth, love, and joy of Christ.
Our Core Commitments:
Worship:
Cultivating Christ-Centered worship through the reading of God’s Word, the singing of God’s Word, the praying of God’s Word, the preaching of God’s Word, and the visualizing of God’s Word. Consequently, the preaching of God’s Word is central to our worship. At Tulip Grove we’re committed to expository preaching, the Spirit-filled proclamation of God’s Word in such a way that the listeners accurately understand the meaning of the text, experience the presence of Christ through the text, and are then compelled from the text to respond in worshipful obedience (2 Tim 4:2). This approach to God’s Word consists of a normal diet of preaching through whole-books of the Bible, verse-by-verse.
Community:
Fostering Covenant Community through mutual love, accountability, encouragement, and care for one another’s well-being and growth in Christ. It is our conviction that the church is not merely a social group to find community, rather it is the assembly of the redeemed, it’s the family of God. And in this family, we share in our mutual relationship with Christ, expressing sacrificial love toward one another as Christ has shown toward us.
Discipleship:
Equipping one another through God’s Word for Christ-like maturity and gospel ministry in every sphere of life. To this end, we strive to equip believers through the study of God’s Word so that every member is empowered to bear witness to Christ in every season and sphere of life (Eph 4:12). We want to make disciples who make disciples in the home, the church, and the society. For families, we aim to cultivate a culture of family discipleship whereby our parents and children are taught the foundational truths of the gospel, equipped to answer the pressing questions of their generation, and discipled to become mature followers of Christ. For Adults, we have our Spiritual Growth Institute whereby we offer a range of classes in Bible, Doctrine, Spiritual Disciplines, and practical courses for the living the Christian life.
Mission:
Declaring the Good News of Jesus among all peoples by the Holy Spirit’s power for God’s Glory. As disciples of Christ, we understand that we’ve been commissioned to take the gospel to all peoples until Christ returns (Matt 28:20; Act 1:8). As our Lord came to seek and save the lost, so we have been sent by him to reach the lost with the Gospel. God’s plan for spreading the good news of Christ is through establishing new church on the gospel who will then reach their local communities. For this reason, we want to be on mission locally in our community, but also active in establishing new churches and sending missionaries with the gospel throughout greater Nashville and around the globe for the glory of God.
