What is Women on Mission?
Women on Mission is a missions discipleship group designed to equip adult women in becoming active disciples of Christ as they live on mission forHim. Women on Mission members seek to live out missions through missions projects, ministries, prayer, giving, and Bible study. The purpose of the organization is to provide every person with the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel.
How has Tulip Grove Implemented WoM?
There are many opportunities for involvement available for women at Tulip Grove! WoM is very flexible, so new groups can be formed as needs arise, and meetings are planned according to the schedules of the women involved in the group.
WoM Daugthers of the King:
This is our daytime WoM group that meets the second Monday each month at 10am. It is a multi-focus Women on Mission group that includes mission projects, praying about, giving to, and learning about missions. Each monthly meeting includes dynamic speakers from various ministries supported by our church as well as missionaries who have served in North America or around the world. The speaker is followed by a delicious potluck lunch and a sweet time of fellowship.
WoM Sisters:
This is our evening WoM group that meets the first Tuesday of each month 6:30-8pm. It is a multi-focus group with speakers to learn about different missions ministries each month and mission projects to support them. Each meeting starts with a time of fellowship to build relationships. Its mission statement is to create a multigenerational bond where doing life together for His kingdom is our desire as we live out His mission.
Our Ministries:
- Meals for Mothers - Provides a meal for new mothers in our church.
- Craft Ministry - Makes items like crocheted and knitted hats and braided jump ropes for people in need as well as items for VA and cancer patients.
- Prayer Ministry - Encourages prayer for missionaries. The prayer calendar is presented during the monthly meetings to pray for missionaries whose birthdays fall on that day. It also focuses on the prayer needs of our church, its members, and their family and friends.
- Mission Study - Strives to inform our church about missionaries and their work. This includes learning about Southern Baptist missionaries featured in Women on Mission’s Missions Mosaic magazine and promoting the weeks of prayer and offerings for specific mission emphases.
