Cultivating Christ-Centered worship through the reading of God’s Word, the singing of God’s Word, the praying of God’s Word, the preaching of God’s Word, and the visualizing of God’s Word.
At Tulip Grove, our aim is to make disciples who Worship Christ with all their heart, mind, soul, and strength. Therefore, each Lord’s Day (Sunday) we gather for corporate worship at 10:30 AM. True worship is centered on Christ as he has been revealed to us in the gospel. For this reason, we want to make sure that Christ is magnified above all! Jesus must be the goal of our worship and anything which distracts from him, must be set aside.
We believe that God has spoken through his Word and given us instruction for how he is to be worshiped. Our Worship, then, consists of doing what God has prescribed in his Word. This principle keeps the church free from law concerning styles, preferences, and man-made traditions, so that God’s Word may be read, sung, prayed, preached, and visualized throughout every generation, culture, and people.
Since the Word of God is centeral to our worship, the preaching of the Word is of utmost importance. At Tulip Grove, we’re committed to expository preaching, the Spirit-filled proclamation of God’s Word in such a way that the listeners accurately understand the meaning of the text, experience the presence of Christ through the text, and are then compelled from the text to respond in worshipful obedience (2 Tim 4:2). This approach to God’s Word consists of a normal diet of preaching through whole-books of the Bible, verse-by-verse.
